Reading Trade Windows is incredibly proud to be part of a wonderful campaign to raise money for defibrillators in schools.

These incredibly important tools can often mean the difference between life and death for someone going into cardiac arrest. Having them in all of our schools across the country is a wonderful cause to go after, and Reading Trade Windows are excited to be a part of it with our sister company Abbey Windows

A friend of the company, Layla, is taking on a 100-mile running challenge in which she aims to run that whole distance in just one month! Please visit our Go Fund Me Page to support Layla and her wonderful cause and donate!

Layla – A Fundraising Champion

Fundraising 100 mile challenge

Layla is a wonderful mother to three little ones who loves to exercise. She spent some years as a teacher and found that she didn’t have enough time to enjoy her passion. She has since left that career path and has found that she now has lots of time to get out there and get active!

She has already completed one challenge for the Young people vs Cancer Charity! She raised a substantial amount in that campaign, and her response has inspired her to continue raising money for a different cause. This time, for defibrillators in schools!

We’re very excited to be a part of this great fundraising campaign that Layla has decided to partner with The Big Match for such a good cause.

Why Defibrillators?

Aed Emergency Defibrillator

Defibrillators are key pieces of equipment in the rush to save a person’s life when they go into cardiac arrest. They can often mean the difference between life and death if they are close at hand.

Defibrillators use high energy electric shocks to shock the heart back into its natural rhythm so that paramedics can provide proper medical assistance to the person who requires it.

Defibrillators are designed to be incredibly easy to use so that anyone within arm’s reach of one is able to apply it in an emergency situation to proper effect.

Should you ever need to use one, immediately call 999 and begin performing CPR if you know how to. The defibrillator will come with instructions for you to follow so that you know what to do with it. Follow the instructions and wait for the paramedics to arrive, and you truly make a difference in someone’s life.
